The face behind the sweets
Hi Lovelies!
I'm Jennifer Holliday, the owner and creator of the sweet delights that come out of Sweet Sugar Js.
I am a mother of 6 kids, 5 beautiful daughters and one handsome son. I am the wife of a very handsome, hardworking, supportive husband, who also happens to be my amazing driver.
I started doing cakes back in 2010 when I was in culinary school. I had my oldest daughter young and was a single mom. I knew I had to provide a great life for her, so I went back to school to be a chef. I went for the cooking, took one mandatory cake class and fell in love immediately. I decided to leave the cooking as a hobby and continued my education as a pastry chef.
Like most home-bakers, I started for just family and friends. I loved the feedback I was getting and mostly I loved how happy I was making people with something I created. I started watching YouTube and following other creators to learn more and advance my skills.
As my family continued to grow, so did my business. We relocated to Newport News, Va in 2014 and that's when cake decorating really took off for me. I was no longer creating for just family and friends, I was now an actual business (Three Times the Charm, at the time), with real clients who had no idea who I even was, but they were ordering because they loved my work! It was the most amazing thing to me.
In 2020, we relocated again, this time to Beaumont, TX. Being in a new place, we decided to rebrand. We are now known as Sweet Sugar Js, named after myself and my kids, our names all start with "J".
For five years now we have served the wonderful Southeast Texas!! This community I have found has been amazing, y’all are definitely keeping me busy and my mind going with creative ideas for all your custom cakes. 😆
Even with all the moves, I still strive to put out the best quality product to all my clients. The passion I started with 15 years ago is even stronger now and the love I feel when a client is happy and smiling from my work is still the most amazing thing and it will always be the most important thing.
